How to find the hostname of a computer on Mac OS X

  1. Go to Spotlight and type Terminal and press the Enter key or from Finder, click on Go, then Utilities. Double-click on the Terminal app in the Finder window.
  2. Type hostname, press Enter key and the computer's hostname will be displayed.
